Journey to Higher
Ground
Dear Elders and Sisters:
On the heels of our wonderful Zone Conference last week,
let me reiterate where we are going. To
Higher Ground! It is just so clear to me
what the Apostles and Prophets who are guiding this mission desire for us and
of us. I trust it is to you as
well. As we discussed, think of their
instruction as the outline, the template, the culture of a model mission and a
model missionary. What a rich and very
timely blessing! We will follow them and
they will take us to Higher Ground!
We have a new culture as a result of their
instruction:
1. As divine sons and daughters of God we serve because
we love Jesus Christ and like Him, we will exactly obey!
2. We teach repentance and baptize converts! (Elder Oaks)
3. We live our Missionary Purpose teaching the Doctrine
of Christ! (Elder Anderson)
4. We invite the spirit unto the hearts of those we teach
and invite them to Act! (Elder Bednar)
5. We invite, they commit, we follow up! (Bishop Waddell)
6. We teach people, not lessons! (Sister Oscarson)
7. We treat LA/PMs like investigators! They are a gold mine for Finding! (Elders
Clayton & Nielson)
Look at that! Our
Culture on a business card! Seems easy,
clear, understandable and definitely livable!
And it is so anchored to the Scriptures, PMG, the Eight Fundamentals,
and the Brethren! It feels so aligned
with God's will and His desires of how His Royal Army conducts themselves. And I promise you that it will guide us to
Higher Ground as a mission.
Thank you for being so diligent, so faithful, and for
serving with exact obedience!
We love you and feel so uplifted by you, your service,
and your success.
