Follow Up to a Wonderful Week

Dear Elders and Sisters:

First of all, some thoughts/comments on our Zone Conference with Elder Arnold: I think it was such a timely blessing to have him come to our mission now. I think his message was clearly a blessing orchestrated by the Lord to remind us to become Master Planners and to serve and love the Members. I was truly appreciative of Sister Clark's excellent teaching on Jacob 5 reminding us that we are engaged in the final preparation of the Vineyard (we're actually in the Lord's Vineyard) for the second coming of the Savior. I think her coupling of this with a reminder on Exact Obedience was very instructive. I am also hopeful that what Sister Arnold taught about being genuine will bless us to become Master Finders and Teachers. This brings me to my teaching on the "why" of becoming Master Teachers – to bless the work and to be able to do it given just how much we will be teaching.  And then I have pointed you to the Sister Fulcher case to teach salient points on the “how” of becoming Master Finders through the Lord's Vision - through the Members. Again, all this was so very well-tailored by the Lord for us, here, and now.  I continue to share with you my vision that we are uniquely prepared and qualified to truly take this mission to the next level. We must believe and then go and do.

It is time for interviews and I look forward to being with each of you.  As you prepare for our interview, I would like you to come prepared to share with me the top three things you are going to differently, do more of, become better at, or what weapon of rebellion you will lay down in order to better participate with the Lord as He hastens His work in His Vineyard.  Remember, as Elder Bednar has taught; If We Always Do What We've Always Done We'll Always Get What We've Always Gotten - IWADWWADWAGWWAG.

Faith to Go Forward!

Dear Elders and Sisters:

I start with a quote from a letter this week.

"Speaking of faith, I loved your letter this week. You know, that has been on my mind time and time again and has been racing through my mind all day and night. I just need faith. How true that is. Faith is the cause of miracles. If I have faith, then obedience is easy. If I have faith, then living the culture is easy. If I have faith, then baptizing those I love is easy."

I think this sums it up, Elders and Sisters. Have faith! Go forward! Believe the Red Sea of 1,000 baptisms will happen....and it will. As is often quoted, "Whether you believe it will or believe it won't, you are right."

We are going to be so blessed this week by Elder Arnold's presence and trust each of you will come prepared to receive. By way of preparation, please come having read the two talks assigned and with your planners with the last six weeks of Key Indicators completed in your Call in Summary Report.

PRESIDENT'S WEEKLY - KNOW YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

KNOW YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

Dear Elders and Sisters:

As you begin this transfer I hope you will be mindful of the incredible opportunity the Lord has given us to show our faith in Him and love for His Son, Jesus Christ, through our commitment to our Missionary Purpose as demonstrated by our Exact Obedience and how well we work through the Lord's Vision, Talk With Ten, and strive to become Master Planners, Finders, and Teachers. Not only will it be a September to Remember but it will set up to be an Amazing End to this year and a launch pad for an unparalleled level of service and dedication.

That statement was embedded in each of your letters this week.  It is true!  We stand on the threshold of something great about to happen - like the parting of the Red Sea.  But it will require great faith coupled with much hard work.  It will be a defining moment for this mission and perhaps for your mission and ministry.  But I know we are capable of doing this.  The question to be answered is, DO YOU KNOW THIS?  

Do you know in your heart that we can baptize more people each month, especially as we head towards the end of this year?

Do you not only see your areas being set up as escalators to fulfill your Missionary Purpose but do you see the Mission as well in an escalator effect taking us to 1,000 baptisms?

Do you have the faith that there are people in your path, people in your Teaching Pools, and people in your units who can be baptized this month taking us from a 60 baptism month to a 100 baptism month?

Do you see September as a month to Remember that sets up for October, November, and December baptizing well over 100 each month and setting up 2016 as monumental year....again?

Do you see your Branches, Wards, and Stakes as having the confidence to set similar baptismal goals as they did this last year believing their Missionaries can and will help them achieve their goals?

Well (as opposed to Uuummmm), I see this vision.  I know it is true and that you are fully capable of accomplishing such a September to Remember - a defining moment and month for this mission and for your personal ministry as a representative of Jesus Christ.

We love you and are praying in earnest for you to KNOW YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!
