President's Weekly - In Sync With the Lord

In Sync With The Lord

Dear Elders and Sisters:

I want to begin by telling you how much I love you and how appreciative I am for the way you are following the Lord's Inspired Vision and Trainings for this Mission.  Thank you for your faith and sustaining acts of obedience.  I can feel such a strong spirit of love and diligence from this Mission and can see the Lord's Hand in this great work of salvation - especially as I witness it being done in His way.  I believe He has entrusted us to be leaders and examples of how to participate and keep pace with Him in the Hastening of His work!

Saturday and Sunday we were blessed to be in Modesto's Stake Conference with Elder Johnson of the First Quorum of the Seventy and Elder Acosta of the Seventy.  In the Saturday evening session he very effectively demonstrated what we are to be doing with Members to assist them in their Member Missionary effort.  He had Elders Dixon and Reid simply teach one of the principles from Preach My Gospel and afterward ask: "As we taught, what name came to your mind who would benefit from this message."  It was wonderful for the good Sister had received a powerful manifestation that her friend Kristen would benefit from this message and gave the information to the Modesto 4 Elders. Elder Johnson finished with this observation; "It is so easy to do Member Missionary Work as the Lord is Hastening His work.  Just let the Missionaries teach you the Lessons and the Lord will reveal to you which of your friends or acquaintances He (the Lord) has prepared to receive the Gospel." This is why the Lord's Inspired Vision for this mission would have us Teach when we eat with the Members and: "Who has the Lord revealed to you?". This is why the Lord would have WCs work to get us Teaching appointments with active Members in addition to Teaching them when they feed us.

This is yet another evidence and testament that the Lord is Hastening His work.  He has prepared His children to receive and will simply reveal to the Members who He would have them share this message with.  Our duty is to bring the spirit into their home by Teaching them one or some of the 41 principles in the Preach My Gospel Lessons 1 - 5.  I encourage you to do this in this way. Please Teach and Testify of the principles in Preach My Gospel and then ask: "Who has the Lord revealed to you would benefit from this message?"  Don't ask: "Who do you know?"  That is old and tired. And don't try to set it up or manipulate them to a name.  Simply Teach the Lessons and then ask who the Lord has told them would benefit from this message.

I hope relaying this experience will give you courage to work with the active Members as has been outlined in the Lord's Inspired Vision for this Mission.  It demonstrates the power of your set apart abilities to Teach and the power of the Lord's ability to reveal to the Members who they should introduce to the gospel.  It also demonstrates that the Lord has sent us to assist the Members in their covenants to be Member Missionaries and how a tiny force of 245 called and set apart Missionaries will assist a much larger force of 16,000 Member Missionaries in their calling to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The following excerpt from one of your letters is a very inspiring account of how the Lord will bless us to Find, Teach, Baptize, and Rescue His children.  "This week was great as we have seen many miracles. During this week we went to visit a less active member in our area who had a stroke during the week and his face did not look good at all. He requested a blessing. We gave him a blessing and shared a message with him and his wife about how the atonement works. Then this Sunday he came to church for the first time in a long time and he looked perfectly fine. He also brought with him his family and 2 other families. One of those was a less active family also. It was around 16 people in total. He wants us to teach those people. We have been asking in prayer for the Lord to help us find those prepared families and He answered our prayers. Things are going really good as we found 9 new investigators this week 3 of them through members. The members are really trusting us and giving us great support in missionary work."

I bear you my witness that as we follow the Lord's Inspired Vision and Inspired Trainings we have received, He will bless us and the Members to Find, Teach, Baptize, and Rescue!  Thank you for doing so and thank you for being Worthy, Obedient, Committed, and Focused and serving with No Regrets!

Sister Clark and I love you dearly and pray for you in earnest!
President Clark
