PRESIDENT'S WEEKLY - WHO WE ARE VERSUS WHAT WE DO

Who We ARE versus What We Do

Dear Elders and Sisters:

What a wonderful week it is going to be and please know that this week and in particular on Thanksgiving Day Sister Clark and I will be giving great thanks for the rich privilege and grand blessing it is to serve in the California Fresno Mission with you!  We trust you also see and feel that the Lord smiled upon you when he assigned you to serve here in this great mission.  So as we count our blessings at this Thanksgiving season, we too thank Him for this incredible blessing and opportunity.  "And [we] also thank [our] God, yea, [our] great God, that he hath granted unto us that we" might serve here now with you!  "[We] will praise Him forever" for this great blessing.

The other part of my message is that of fire.  Are you still fired up from Zone Conference and still working with great resolve to be Exactly Obedient in your Finding, Teaching, and the way you live your Purpose as Complete Missionaries?  I think one of our very seasoned Elders said it perfectly this week in his letter to me: "I'm digging this Exact Obedience President! This needs to be something that we Live not Do. It’s just who we ARE as a mission! This is us! When you step off that plane and meet a CFM missionary you recognize it and you live it!"

Now that is well said!  Please consider this attitude as you go forward.  Is striving to be Exactly Obedient something you do or is it Who you ARE?  Is this focus with the attitude of "fire in our bones" just something we are doing now (the latest bright, shiny thing) or Who we ARE becoming to be?  Will others, Members and new Missionaries say: "They ARE Exactly Obedient and they ARE ALWAYS Ferocious Finders!"?

Oh how we love you and because we do we so desire you "become" Exactly Obedient, Ferocious Finders, and Live your Missionary Purpose using the Lord's Vision, being Complete Missionaries, achieving the Power of One, and striving to be Master Planners, Finders, and Teachers!

Happy, Happy Thanksgiving to each of you!

With much love and affection,

President Clark
