Zone Conference 3-2015

Zone Conference, which happens quite often, is an incredible opportunity to be with the Missionaries and instruct them as to how we can be better Representatives of Jesus Christ and fulfill our Missionary Purpose.  Our recent Zone Conference was "over the top" wonderful.  We felt impressed to have many of our leaders teach and so we asked ten Missionaries from each Zone Conference Area to teach the Lord's Inspired Vision tied to the Hastening of the Work that we are seeking to follow as a Mission.  It was impressive to witness the wonderful teaching from these Missionaries and how inspired they were as to what and how they taught.  It was a clear manifestation and testimony that The Lord is in charge.  The topics were the same in each Conference and in the case of one topic, it was taught using the same scriptural account three different times from three different missionaries without any coordination with one another.  Wow!  Clearly The Lord wanted this Mission to understand how the account of Alma and Amulek is the story of Missionaries working with Less Actives to teach and minister to them.  And what further testament that the Book of Mormon was written for us in our day.


The Assistants did an amazing job of teaching Effective Planning which is so important as The Lord hastens His work and is doing it through the Members.  Knocking doors does not require any planning to speak of but working with and through the Members to find and teach Less Actives requires a true measure of correlation and planning.  We were so blessed by their teaching. 

And Sister Clark taught so effectively on obedience - the first law of Heaven and the first law of this Mission.  We know that Exact Obedience brings miracles and conversion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a miracle.  As we are Exactly Obedient and teach with the Spirit those things He would have the Investigators, Less Actives, Part Members and Active Members hear that faith will be increased and their lives will be lifted and edified to do more, different, better, or lay down weapons of rebellion and Come Unto Christ.  Sister Clark is such a blessing to this Mission and to top it off, she taught a wonderful section on Etiquette - always needed and part of our Mission President and Wife Purpose to return your son or daughter in better condition than we received them and help them get the best deal possible in the marriage department.  

President Clark taught on the need to learn how to Act rather than be Acted Upon and how this is a model that will bless their life as a Missionary but more importantly it will bless the rest of their lives.  It is so important that they recognize they are "Free Forever, to Act for Themselves" (see D. Todd Christofferson, Oct 2014 GC).  The Missionaries in the great California Fresno Mission are learning that Exact Obedience coupled with learning "correct principles and governing themselves" will "open the windows of Heaven" both temporally and spiritually for the rest of their lives.
