Blessings and Revelations from our Fast
Dear Elders and Sisters:
Thank you for making the purpose of your fast that we
will be Complete and Purposed Missionaries who are Exactly Obedient and live
the Mission Culture, work through the Inspired Vision, and Talk With Ten each
and every day that we might Find, Teach, Baptize, and Rescue! And also, thank you for fasting and praying
for the Members to be strengthened in their covenants and desires as Member
Missionaries. We cannot do this work without them.
In your letter this week, please share with me what you
spiritually learned from your fast.
I would like to share with you some things the Lord
revealed to me in regards to strengthening Members as Missionaries.
1. We need to be exactly obedient in our duties of
checking in with our WML each and every day.
I taught this and requested this of you in our last training. If your WML is not hearing from you every
day, he cannot effectively fulfill his calling and we are asking him to run a
race on crutches. Voice is desired but
text is acceptable if your WML is not available to talk. We must be exactly
obedient in this! In this we must be
perfect!
2. We need to be more diligent in teaching the NML
lessons, hopefully with a Member Present.
Remember, we are now teaching Members.
We need to continue in our teaching, lifting, and edifying relationship
similar in intensity that we had with them prior to their baptism. We must do this! And hopefully you'll be successful in scheduling
Members to join you as we seek to bless these Recent Converts with what
President Hinckley taught they all need: A Member Friend; A calling; and to be
nourished by the good word of God.
3. We need to be more effective planners. We must become Master Planners! These great Stake Presidents and Stake
Leadership are working diligently to ensure the MCM happens. I am so appreciative to/for them and know
this will be a great blessing to Members and Missionaries as we join forces in
order to better participate with the Lord as He hastens His work. And in order for this meeting to be highly
successful, you must be absolutely prepared with names of LAs and PMs you feel
you should visit, your RC and PI reports must be completely accurate and up to
date, and you must be very organized and prepared in your plans and back up
plans for the week to coordinate Team Ups, Member Presents, and Member Home
Lessons. I have a sense for how much
time you spend on Fridays planning and ask simply are effectively planning or
just doing time? We cannot misstep the
MCM with lackluster planning! We must be
Master Planners!
4. We must better love, appreciate, and bless the Members
by our service. They are the BEST! They do so much for us. Please be gracious, appreciative, thankful,
and humble with our Members. And please
be your best self and most happy self when you are with them. If you want to complain, take it to the Lord
but only give your very best to the Members!
Please note that all of my observations and revelations
began with "We". I firmly
believe that it is up to us and how we conduct ourselves that will/can be the
greatest motivator and most important ingredient to bless the lives of the
Members as Missionaries. It is the
"Lord is it I?" principle.
Well, Sister Clark and I have been richly blessed and
edified by this fast and look forward to hearing your spiritual impressions and
revelations. Isn't it a great time to be
a Missionary in the California Fresno Mission!!! We just love it and we love you!!!
